Chapada Diamantina

Ever heard of the Grand Canyon ? ... of course ...
Well, the national park Chapada Diamantina is the Brazilian version of the Grand Canyon.
Land of adventure where diamonds and gold used to be found with great success.
If you have not visited these masterpiece of nature you have not visited Brasil. And be honest with yourself ... there is a load to discover in this county outside your vessel ;-)
What to expect from Chapada Diamantina ?

Day 1

Travelling to the Chapada with our airconditioned car (we can pick you up in Salvador (airport, marina) or in Maragojipe (sailors we can provide guarding of your ship). In the late afternoon we visit the famous orchid nursery. The very nice and calm located pousada Canto das Águas in Lençois will be our home base for the next days.

Day 2

After spending the night in Lencois, in the middle of this magnificent national park. Today we will be on our way to some interesting cave exploring (take swimming equipment, one of the caves you can swim/snorkel in and have the most amazing scenery). Underway you will already discover this misterious scenery of typical canyon and savanna-like vegetation

Day 3

After a nice breakfast we start our day excursion nto the Mucugezinho waterfalls and the caves of Poço do Diabo and Pratinha. We will have lunch in a local restaurant near the caves. Afterwards we drive up mount Moro de Pai Inacio where in the era of gold-diggers strange things happened ... you will see unforgetable farsights of the canyons from up there !

Day 4

As early as possible we leave for Poço Encantado, where you will discover more impressive nature and scenery.

Dag 6

In the morning you are free to do some shopping in Lençois after wich we had back to the coast.
